DOROTHY TORIVIO-ACOMA (1946-2011)
This exquisite seed pot/vase could only have been made by the incomparable Dorothy Torivio, reknowned Acoma potter. Many time winner and Best of Show both at the Heard Show in Phoenix and Santa Fe Indian Market, Dorothy handcoiled and handpainted some of the thinnest and finest pottery at Acoma Pueblo! Her work is sought after, and graces most of the important collections throughout the world. This is her mesa steppe design, at once traditional and amazingly eye-dazzlingly modern all at once. The design pulls you into the pot, holding you captive! The balance and symmetry of the shoulders and the painting are incredible! Measuring 7" in diameter, and 5" high, this was a large piece for Dorothy. Asolutely gorgeous!
