This is a rare White Buffalo turquoise necklace made by well-known Santo Domingo lapidary, Leonard Moquino. A multi-strand heishi bead necklace comprised of ten-yes, TEN!- strands of 1/8” finely cut and polished rare White Buffalo turquoise beads, this necklace measures 24” in length. This necklace is made of rare White Buffalo turquoise found in only one mine in the world in Nevada! Blue turquoise is formed when copper is present, and green when iron is present; in this turquoise, no metals are present hence it's white coloration! The extraordinary amount of work that went into the making of this rare necklace is apparent in every single bead! This is a masterpiece of Santo Domingo lapidary art!
