FRANKLIN PETERS - Acoma

Handcoiled and handpainted and outddoor fired, this beautiful Acoma olla is made by the young potter, Franklin Peters. Measuring 4 and 1/4“ high by 4 and 3/4“ in diameter, this piece has been painted with a very traditional Acoma design. Because Franklin learned from Rachel Aragon and was taught to make pottery the old way, I have actually seen one of his pieces selling as a very old Acoma piece! This pot has that feel as well. In recent years, Franklin has garnered a lot of attention for his pottery.  This piece was signed in 2007, and is thin-walled, gracefully executed, and has a soft blush to it from the outdoor firing.  An exciting pot by an up-and-coming young artist!
