TOHONO O’ODHAM STAR BASKET

Measuring 4 and 3/4" in diameter, this is a fine small Tohono O'Odham or Papago made basket from southern Arizona. It has a star or whirlwind design beautifully outlined by the weaver in an open stitch weave. It starts and ends with a coil stitch and is made of a Beargrass fiiber bundle for the warp and bleached Yucca for the weft. It is wonderfully innovative, and a card with the weaver‘s name is included!
